2-Step Verification

2-Step Verification adds an extra layer of security to your Newegg account by asking for a one-time code, in addition to your password, when you sign in from a new device.

Turn on 2-Step Verification

Add extra security to your account.

Turn off 2-Step Verification

Disable it from your account settings.

Turn On 2-Step Verification

1. Open Account Settings.
Sign in to your Newegg account, then go to Manage Account → Account Settings.

2. Enable 2-Step Verification.
Find 2-Step Verification in the list and click Enable on the right.

3. Choose where to send your code.
Pick one of the following:

Email — codes sent to your account email.

Phone number — codes sent by text message.

Authenticator app — scan the QR code with an app like Google Authenticator or Authy.

4. Verify and turn it on.
Click Send Code, enter the code you received, then click Verify & Turn On. 2-Step Verification is now active.

What to expect: Once enabled, you’ll be prompted for a one-time code whenever you sign in from a device you haven’t marked as trusted.

Turn Off 2-Step Verification

1. Open Account Settings.
Sign in to your Newegg account, then go to Manage Account → Account Settings.

2. Click Disable.
Find 2-Step Verification in the list and click Disable on the right. Confirm when prompted.

Heads up: Disabling 2-Step Verification reduces the security of your account. We strongly recommend keeping it enabled unless you have a specific reason to turn it off.
